"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16 &17 NASB
Every person on the planet deserves to be separated from God for all eternity. We deserve it simply because we are all sinners. Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (NASB) The hard reality is that there will be those who choose to spend eternity in eternal separation. Each one of us, when our time here on Earth is over, will have to stand before God. Some will receive judgement and others will receive a reward (Revelation 20:11-15 NKJV) Before Christ, Hell and the Lake of Fire were our only options. Now because of God's love for us and Him giving His Son, we can now be in right relationship with Him, and spend eternity with Him in His presence. Because of what Christ has done on the cross, we can avoid eternal fire and separation from God. Instead of Hell, we can have Heaven. Many of us live our lives as if this is it. We live like all we have to worry about is our time here on Earth. Let me let you in on a little secret. This isn't it. Every one of us, after we leave our present world will live eternally. Some will live with God, others will live in eternal torment (Daniel 12:2 NKJV). I want to suggest to you that it's time for us to start living for eternity. How do we do that? We live for eternity by not living for ourselves but living for Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:15 says, "and He died for all so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf." (NASB) Make Jesus the LORD of your life, live according to His Word, focus your life on pleasing Him and being a blessing to others. Of course this not an extensive list, but it's a start. Each of us have a decision to make. God wants us to be in His presence permanently. He's made a way for that to happen through the gift of His Son. Jesus purchases the forgiveness of Sin and everlasting life in Heaven on the cross. Jesus shed His blood for the sin of the world, He died and was resurrected on the third day. He now sits as the right hand of God making intercessions for all of us. He offers us the free gift of Salvation. The Gift of God is produced our of love, It's a very precious gift and because of this gift we can spend all eternity with the Father in Heaven. I want to leave you with this question, what will you choose? Will you choose to accept this free gift?
